Abstract
The movement for institutions of higher education and industry to form linkages in order to provide education for employees in the American workplace has increased recently. However, virtually no information exists about preferences of corporate training managers, effective training sources, nor how training budgets are being spent. To obtain this information, 522 training managers were surveyed with a response rate of 72%. Findings indicate that training managers consider postsecondary educational institutions a low priority as service providers when compared to other training sources. Results also include managers' preferences for training types and activities. Analysis of the data has produced findings which should help inform adult educators about what types of training are considered effective by corporate America.
