El estudio tiene como objetivo someter a prueba la hipótesis de que los adultos autistas sufren un significativo deterioro en las tareas de nominación de las emociones. Los resultados que apoyan esta hipótesis fueron encontrados tanto en lo relativo a la precisión (respuestas correctas) como en el tiempo invertido en la realización de las tareas. Los resultados sugieren que el deterioro en la nominación de emociones es un déficit específico y crónico, propio del autismo.
