Abstract
A growing national interest in physical fitness has presented a variety of challenges for the recreational sports professional. Questions such as, which activities provide the greatest fitness benefits, how can I promote interest in physical fitness, and which activities need to be added and/or eliminated are common today. The trend in physical fitness for better health is real and here to stay, and only by finding the best answers to the above questions can professionals hope to serve all of their clientele (Lamke, 1980, p.4).
