Abstract
Researchers conducted a post–occupancy evaluation at the new location of a 174–person architectural firm in Boston. Interviews of the 11–member design team were conducted to determine the original primary design intentions for the project. Three design intentions were identified and tested in the completed office, openness, community, and flexibility, in addition to an evaluation of satisfaction regarding the two spaces. Seventy subjects responded to a six–page questionnaire. The evaluation revealed that the staff was more satisfied with the new office than the old and that the design intentions was generally met. Input was provided regarding potential modifications to the physical environment.
