Abstract
This study was developed to assess the current attitudes in corporate art collecting. The sample population was selected from art advisors, interior designers, and architects involved with corporate art collections in the United States. The survey consisted of 15 questions addressing the motivation for collecting art, the contribution art makes to the workplace, selection of art, details for assembling a collection, and employee responses to art. The motivation to collect art focused on stimulation of the work environment, increased productivity and creativity, and concern for corporate image. The findings stressed the importance of the environment in enhancing employee satisfaction with the workplace. Ninety–four percent of the respondents felt corporate art collecting would continue to grow.
