Abstract
This is the first of many viewpoints we hope to see in this column. “Viewpoints” provides a forum for discussing theoretical, philosophical, and practical issues associated with nursing diagnosis. Recall the stimulating discussions you had and overheard at the last NANDA conference, and send us your viewpoint. We would also like to see any brief, informal comments you wish to make in response to someone's viewpoint.
