Abstract
Numerical models of the Heat-Air-Moisture (HAM) transfer need the hourly values of climatic elements including the driving rain loads. This paper presents a method of creating the hourly data of the driving rain loads on an exposedwall applicable as a boundary condition forHAMnumerical calculations. It is suitable in case the real hourly values of the driving rain are not available. The method uses the measured daily characteristics of climatic elements—the daily amounts of the horizontal rainfall and the daily means of the wind speed. Results of the numerical simulation of hygrothermal performance of a wall that use the approximated daily courses of the driving rain are in satisfactory agreement with the results that use the real measured hourly data independently of the consideredwall material.
