The Application of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Technique to Formulation Design of Flame Retardant Polymers. I. Intumescent Flame Retardant PA-66 Composites
The application of the artificial neural network (ANN) to the formulation design of the halogen-free flame retardant polyamide-66 with natural color was carried out. The ANN based software, flame retardant expert system FRES 2.0 for FR polymer formulation design, was developed and used in this study. The optimized output gives LOI values in accordance with experiments. It follows that the three-layer BP (back-propagation) network based modeling proved to be most useful in dealing with problems with serious non-linearity encountered in formulation design of flame retardant polymer compounds.
