Abstract
This study examined the involvement of medical gynecologists (MGs) in transgender health care, focusing on their current practices, training, and perspectives on providing transgender support. A cross-sectional survey using a standardized questionnaire was distributed to MGs across France via Google Forms® from December 1 to December 31, 2023. Out of 167 returned questionnaires, 31 respondents (18.6%) prescribed hormone therapy (HT) for women and 28 (16.8%) for men; 92.2% (154/167) recognized gynecologists as pivotal in coordinating transgender care; 6% (10/167) considered themselves well-prepared. Gynecologists seem well-positioned to offer HT, surgical referrals, support for parenthood, and to coordinate comprehensive transgender health care.
