Abstract
The Publisher and Editors of Thyroid officially withdraw the Just Accepted version of the article entitled, “Smoking, Alcohol Consumption, and Risk of Thyroid Cancer: A Population-based Korean Cohort Study of 10 Million People (Epub 6 March 2020; 10.1089/thy.2019.0508) due to unfortunate and unintended errors in the editorial process.
The authors of the paper brought the errors to the attention of the journal's editorial leadership after receiving their page proofs on March 29, 2020.
The Publisher and Editors recently conducted an investigation into the authors' concerns and we apologize for the delay in initiating that process.
After reviewing the authors' message, the Editors carefully retraced the version control and realized that their internal edits were made to the authors' first revised version of the manuscript, not the second, and that is where the errors were introduced.
The authors were informed of these findings on November 10, 2021.
The publisher is officially withdrawing the paper with the understanding that the authors are invited to resubmit a new version that will undergo expedited peer review.
