Abstract
We live in a deeply connected, rapidly changing world. When, in 2030, we reflect on having successfully achieved the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), we will credit the transformation of higher education from a linear, hierarchical, competitive organizational model to a distributed, interdependent, collaborative one. We will view academic programs and disciplines at colleges and universities not as fiefdoms competing for territory and resources but as a community of nested networks, reliant on, supportive of, and inextricably linked to one another. We will marvel that it was ever any other way.
