Abstract
Background:
Sarcoidosis is an autoimmune granulomatous disease with unknown etiology that commonly affects the lungs. However cutaneous lesions can be found in one third of the patients and can serve as the initial signs or the only clinical manifestation of the disease. Cutaneous sarcoidosis is difficult to treat despite the use of various therapies.
Methods:
Here we report a case of cutaneous sarcoidosis treated with fractional CO2 laser therapy in combination with topical halometasone without oral medications.
Results:
The treatment areas improved gradually over several courses of fractional CO2 laser therapy.
Conclusions:
This case demonstrates that fractional CO2 laser therapy can be a viable treatment option for cutaneous sarcoidosis.
