Abstract
ABSTRACT
Thoracoscopic excision of a bronchogenic cyst was performed in a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old patient A close examination of the chest radiograph and a CT scan revealed a cystic lesion in both cases. The conventional surgical approach for the removal of a cyst is a posterolateral thoracotomy. Remote cysts shell out quite easily and are amenable to thoracoscopic resection. Thoracoscopy is a good therapeutic alternative in experimented hands, allowing a precise anatomic dissection with less morbidity and better cosmetic results.
