ABSTRACT
A true rectal prolapse that had been neglected until the age of 8 was approached by a laparoscopic method. The operation consisted of a rectopexy to the promontory without prosthetic material. The postsurgical course was uncomplicated, and the result after 5 months remains excellent. Certain technical details make the conduct of the operation easier.
