Abstract
ABSTRACT
In children with nonpalpable testes, various forms of diagnostic approaches are recommended. Ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT)-scan, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), arteriography, venography, and laparoscopy are mentioned in the literature. Laparoscopy is the most reliable method as the intra-abdominal situation can be evaluated under direct vision. The presence of vessels and the seminal duct are important features in answering the question regarding the cause of impalpable testes. An overview of the laparoscopic findings in more than 100 children with cryptorchidism and their interpretation is given.
