Abstract
Dr. Schuller is Professor of Pediatrics and Chief, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonology at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania. She was the first woman president (1994–1995) of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr. Schuller is board certified in the fields of pediatrics and allergy and immunology. After receiving her bachelor's degree in biology from Bryn Mawr College, Dr. Schuller attended the State University of New York Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn, completing her medical degree in 1970. She then pursued residencies and postgraduate training in both pediatrics and allergy and immunology. Dr. Schuller serves on the boards of the American Lung Association of Pennsylvania, Central Pennsylvania, and the Susquehanna Valley; on the board of the American Association of Certified Allergists; and on the board of Mothers of Asthmatics, Inc. She is Medical Director of Camp Breathe Easy, a residential camp for asthmatic children, was an advisory board member of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Advisory Committee on Allergenic Extracts, and was Chairperson of the Publications Council of the American Council of Allergy and Immunology. In addition, Dr. Schuller serves on the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters for the Specialty of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and on the Executive Committee of the Allergy and Immunology Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been a member of the editorial boards of Pediatric Asthma, Allergy & Immunology and the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
