Abstract
Human peripheral blood mononuclear leukocytes (PBML) were separated by Ficollhypaque gradient from human peripheral whole blood cells. The PBML were further separated by nylon-column. When nylon-column nonadherent cells (NNA cells) were induced by poly I:poly C which was prepared by heat-treatment, high levels of acid- and heatlabile interferon (IFN) were obtained. The IFN was not neutralized with human IFN-α or -β anti-serum, but was completely neutralized with human IFN-γ anti-serum, indicating that the IFN was human IFN-γ.
