Abstract
Using Southern blot analysis of genomic DNA isolated from hamster/mouse somatic cell hybrids, we have mapped the mouse interferon-β1, gene to chromosome 4. Thus, as in humans, both the α- and β-interferon genes are localized on the same chromosome in mouse.
