Abstract
The effect of partially purified leukocyte (α) and fibroblast (β)-derived interferons (IFNs) and crude immune (γ) IFN on the transformation of non-T mononuclear leukocytes by the Epstein—Barr (EBV) virus was studied. The IFN preparations reduced the frequency of cells positive for EBV -specific nuclear antigen but did not significantly prolong the EBV-transformation interval.
