Abstract
ABSTRACT
There have been few studies on the intranasal deposition and distribution of aerosol particles generated by nasal inhalation devices. I have outlined progress in aerosol therapy in ear, nose, and throat diseases by using subthemes. I have focused upon current research and modern therapy. Sources include recent reviews and data from serial studies from our laboratory.
Subthemes: Deposition of aerosol particles in the nasal cavity and the sinus. Generation and delivery of aerosols. Criteria to evaluate therapeutic efficacy. Aerosol medicaments.
Optimal nasal inhalation techniques for achieving goals of aerosol therapy have yet to be demonstrated.
