Isolation and Characterization of Two Monoclonal Antibodies Raised Against tmsl Protein of Fission Yeast

ABSTRACT

Monoclonal antibodies were produced against recombinant tmsl protein of fission yeast. The antibodies of IgG₃ subclass were isolated from serum-free cell culture medium and purified by affinity chromatography on protein A-Sepharose. The antibodies can be used to detect specifically the tmsl protein on immunoblots of total yeast lysates. In addition, native tmsl protein is specifically precipitated by these antibodies from yeast lysates.
