Abstract
Background:
Vaginal surgical interval sterilization was first reported in 1934 and has been used throughout the years since.
Procedure:
The review describes this operation per the experience of the current author.
Results:
The current author's experience with this procedure were consistent with those noted in the the literature, including such advantages as including short operating time, low failure rates, minimal pain, low blood loss, low cost, and no abdominal scars.
Conclusions:
At a time in gynecology when “minimally invasive surgery” is emphasized, vaginal interval sterilization should be considered as an ideal type procedure. (J GYNECOL SURG 29:128)
