Abstract
Objective:
The purpose of this article is to describe the experience of using the elastic self-retaining retractor in gynecology.
Design:
The article is designed as a case series report.
Materials and Methods:
The use of minilaparotomy with elastic self-retaining retractor (Mobius, Apple Medical, Marlborough, MA), for both adnexal masses and large uteri in 5 cases, is described.
Results:
There were no intraoperative or postoperative complications. All patients had minimal blood loss and were discharged home on postoperative day 1.
Conclusions:
Minilaparotomy with self-retaining elastic retractor is a useful alternate to traditional laparotomy and laparoscopy. (J GYNECOL SURG 28:347)
