Abstract
Background:
Parasitic myoma is a rare complication of laparoscopic myomectomy. In this article, we report a case of laparoscopic excision of parasitic myomas adherent to the bowel.
Case:
A 24-year-old nulligravida presented for an evaluation of her infertility. She had undergone laparoscopic myomectomy with minilaparotomy 3 years back. Laparoscopy showed 7 parasitic myomas adherent to the rectosigmoid, small bowel, and uterus. All myomas were excised laparoscopically without injuring the bowel.
Conclusions:
Although parasitic myoma is a rare complication of myomectomy, it does occur and laparoscopic management is possible. (J GYNECOL SURG 26:73)
