Abstract
Background:
Cystic degeneration of myomas is rare, accounting for only 4% of all cases of myoma degeneration.
Case:
A 42-year-old woman underwent the excision of a 18 × 10 × 9 cm completely cystic myoma, which weighed 1031 g and was attached to the uterine fundus. There was no significant myometrial invasion or solid component.
Conclusions:
This is the largest purely cystic myoma reported. It was removed intact without incident.
