Abstract
Advanced abdominal pregnancy is a complex condition that demands challenging management. Delays in diagnosis are mainly the result of difficulties in clinical assessment caused by a variance in presentation. A high index of suspicion may reduce diagnostic error. A careful clinical examination, coupled with investigatory aids, such as X-ray, ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging, will clinch the diagnosis. A case of advanced secondary abdominal pregnancy is presented in this paper. The diagnostic and management problems associated with abdominal pregnancy are also discussed. (J GYNECOL SURG 23:69)
