Abstract
Soft-tissue dystocia during labor, manifested as arrest of descent, may be caused by various conditions, including maternal pelvic abnormalities, uterine, cervical, or lower genital tract anomalies. In this paper, we report a case of a vertical lower vaginal septum causing arrest of descent, requiring cesarean delivery, and review the literature. These types of genital tract anomalies may be associated with the obstruction of labor necessitating a cesarean delivery, if untreated prior to labor. (J GYNECOL SURG 22:167)
