Use of the Laparoscopic Endoclose ™ Device to Insert External Retention Sutures in a Morbidly Obese Patient at Laparotomy

Abstract

In this article, we present a case of a morbidly obese patient who underwent a laparotomy for a large, benign adnexal mass. Marked difficulty was encountered in placing external retention sutures using conventional sutures owing to patient habitus. The technique of utilizing the Endoclose^™ device to place these sutures and the relative merits of this technique are discussed. (J GYNECOL SURG 21:125)
