Abstract
ABSTRACT
Three young women underwent abdominal retroperitoneal sacropexy of the uterus by use of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (Gore-Tex) as suspensory material for the correction of massive genital prolapse. After an average postoperative follow-up period of 20 months, the objective and subjective cure rate was successfully maintained in all cases. A conservative approach to genital prolapse in young women may achieve a longer-lasting restoration of the pelvic anatomy and the preservation of sexual and reproductive functions.
