Abstract
ABSTRACT
Two interesting cases of male pseudohermaphrodites with gonadal tumors are described. The first case was a patient with James-Swyer syndrome, XY pure gonadal dysgenesis. Management of the dysgerminoma in the dysgenetic gonads was done laparoscopically. The second patient was a phenotypic female with dysgenetic male pseudohermaphroditism. In this case, laparoscopic removal of dysgenetic gonads with occult seminoma was carried out. Both patients did well after surgery and were discharged the next day. Laparoscopy is a viable alternative method of resection of dysgenetic gonads with early Stage 1A gonadal tumors. (J GYNECOL SURG 15:49, 1999)
