Abstract
ABSTRACT
A 34-year-old, gravida 0, woman was referred for evaluation of infertility as a result of ovulatory dysfunction. She was treated with clomiphene citrate, which corrected the ovulatory dysfunction, as documented by an in-phase endometrial biopsy result. During this treatment, she was diagnosed with a large multilocular cyst, measuring 17 × 25 × 32 cm on CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis. CA-125 was elevated. Laparotomy confirmed the diagnosis of a cyst. A right salpingo-oophorectomy was performed. The left tube and ovary were normal. Final pathologic diagnosis was a low malignant potential mucinous cystadenoma. The patient is now pregnant in the third trimester of a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy. (J GYNECOL SURG 14:27, 1998)
