Abstract
ABSTRACT
Vaginal hysterectomy in patients where abdominal hysterectomy has previously failed because of adhesions, is a challenging procedure and requires vast experience in vaginal surgery. A case report is described of a successful vaginal hysterectomy following a failed abdominal hysterectomy and emphasizes that if clinical findings, pelvic sonography, and examination of the anesthetized patient rule out contraindications to vaginal hysterectomy, it can be performed successfully without harm to the patient.
