Abstract
ABSTRACT
We describe a modified laparoscopic retropubic colposuspension in patients with genuine stress incontinence in a prospective study on laparoscopic treatment of genuine urinary stress incontinence after 12 months of follow-up. A series of 10 women affected by genuine urinary stress incontinence were treated laparoscopically by a modified Burch procedure. The cure rate evaluated by clinical means 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively by urodynamic testing was 100%. Preperitoneal laparoscopic colposuspension is a promising new approach for the treatment of genuine urinary stress incontinence. (J GYNECOL SURG 13:65, 1997)
