Abstract
ABSTRACT
The applicability of laparoscopic perioperative ultrasonography was evaluated in five patients with a specific type of dermoid cyst. The tumor was located near the ovarian hilus and had a round, echodense appearance on ultrasonography. Using laparoscopic ultrasonography for localization of the tumor and selection of the optimal approach to the tumor surface, radical extirpation of the tumor was possible. Laparoscopic ultrasonography is a potential additional method in laparoscopic ovarian resection, and it can be used to document immediately the radically the operation. (J GYNECOL SURG 13:161, 1997)
