Abstract
ABSTRACT
We report on a case of pulmonary thromboembolism following a hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy in a patient at low risk for thromboembolic disorders. This is the first documented case of a thromboembolic episode immediately following hysteroscopic surgery. Thromboembolic complications of operative hysteroscopy are so infrequent that it is unclear whether or not heparin prophylaxis is indicated (J GYNECOL SURG 12:69, 1996)
