Abstract
ABSTRACT
In the premenopausal or postmenopausal patient, cervical stenosis can prevent office evaluation of the endometrium by inhibiting passage of the biopsy instruments. Five patients with severe stenosis of the external cervical os were treated with the loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), and in all cases, an endometrial biopsy was promptly obtained with no immediate or long-term complications. LEEP can be used to relieve stenosis of the external cervical os to obtain an endometrial biopsy. (J GYNECOL SURG 12:201, 1996)
