Abstract
ABSTRACT
Full-thickness skin grafts and partial-thickness skin grafts have been used with good results for vaginal reconstruction since 1938.1,2 The stent or mold to stabilize the skin graft and to maintain the cavity in the postoperative period is of utmost importance for the success of this surgery. This article describes the modified design of a vacuum-controlled condom stent to facilitate its introduction during operation, to stabilize the skin graft applied on it until it heals, and to maintain the newly constructed vaginal cavity in the postoperative period. The method described is simple and easy to follow. (J GYNECOL SURG 12:117, 1996)
