Abstract
ABSTRACT
Uterine leiomyomas are common tumors of the female genital tract. Management of these tumors may include treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a). We present a case of a woman treated with GnRH-a for presumed uterine leiomyoma, who subsequently was found to have an endometrial stromal sarcoma. Six previously reported cases of uterine sarcomas treated as presumed leiomyomas with GnRH-a are reviewed. Clinical features that might identify women with malignancy are discussed.
