This is the first published report of an incarcerated leiomyomatous uterus occurring as an acute abdominal condition in a nonpregnant patient. The patient had increasingly severe lower abdominal pain and underwent total abdominal hysterectomy. (J GYNECOL SURG 10:97, 1994)
