Abstract
ABSTRACT
Some patients who require a hysterectomy may have medical problems that do not permit the safe administration of either general or regional anesthesia. Local anesthesia has been used in 54 such high-risk patients to perform vaginal hysterectomy. The operative technique is described. We recommend the use of local anesthesia as a safe alternative in these patients. (J GYNECOL SURG 8:65, 1992)
