Abstract
ABSTRACT
Urethral carcinoma is a rare malignancy in women. Treatment depends on extent and location of the lesion and ranges from local excision to exenteration, with or without radiotherapy. Locally advanced or metastatic disease portends a poor prognosis. Cytoreduction of local disease in preparation for adjunctive therapy while preserving local anatomy is difficult using standard surgical techniques. We present a case of complete cytoreduction of inguinal/ vaginal/urethral tumor using the Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator, avoiding radical resection of normal tissue while providing palliation of symptoms.
