ABSTRACT
Mesenteric venous thrombosis occurred in a postpartum female on low-dose oral contraceptive pills. The confusing presentation of abdominal pain was the result of slowly progressive gangrene of the jejunum. Timely surgical intervention averted the potentially catastrophic outcome of this illness.
