Abstract
ABSTRACT
A case of concomitant absence of a fallopian tube with an apparent ipsilateral streak gonad discovered during infertility investigations is documented. The finding of unilateral adnexal abnormalities is reviewed. The etiology of these rare situations is likely on the basis of torsion of the adnexa in many instances, but when there are associated uterine or renal abnormalities, this is more likely a defect in development in fetal life. Awareness of such anomalies is needed to prevent confusion, as occurred in this case, as to the significance of the findings. (J GYNECOL SURG 6:115, 1990)
