Abstract
ABSTRACT
To encourage wider use of the vaginal as opposed to the abdominal route for hysterectomy, methods and instruments are presented to illustrate the technique of vaginal hysterectomy for the oversized uterus. The data presented here are based on an experience drawn form 324 consecutive vaginal hysterectomies during 25 years limited to fibroid uteri weighing between 190 and 810 g. The methods described are morcellation, coring, bivalving, and combinations thereof. (J GYNECOL SURG 5:301, 1989)
