ABSTRACT
Between June 1985 and January 1989, 23 women with symptomatic sessile submucous myomas varying in size from 2.0–6.5 cm were treated by the Nd:YAG laser delivered transcervically. Four techniques were used either to reduce the myoma by ablation, to devascularize the lesion, or to resect and extract the tumor. Following treatment, 22 of the 23 women who complained of excessive bleeding now have normal menses. Three of five patients desiring pregnancy have attained this goal. (J GYNECOL SURG 5:27, 1989)
