Abstract
ABSTRACT
Delivery of gases for pneumoperitoneum at laparoscopy is usually achieved from sources that are not filtered before delivery into the patient. Particulate inorganic debris, rust, metal filings, and Teflon have been found on filters placed distal to the insufflation regulator and between delivery to the patient's abdomen. It is recommended that standards for particulate matter be addressed and that filters be required during insufflation for gynecologic endoscopy. (J GYNECOL SURG 5:205, 1989)
