Abstract
ABSTRACT
A new laparoscopic probe to deliver CO2 laser energy is presented. This device has an outer diameter of 4.9mm and can be delivered through most of the conventional operative laparoscopic accessories. Power levels of 10–30 W were used in 17 women for tissue incision as well as excision or superficial ablation of pelvic adhesions, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids. A new application mode using an easily maneuverable probe for cutting and coagulating (focusing/defocusing) effects increases the options available for operative laparoscopy.
