ABSTRACT
Records of 18 patients with a diagnosis of primary vulvar melanoma were reviewed and classified according to pathological staging levels and treatment modality. The influence of treatment on survival was evaluated according to FIGO stage and Chung level. Findings indicate that surgery remains the treatment of choice for primary malignant melanomas. Extent of surgical excision is correlated to depth of tumor invasion.
