Abstract
ABSTRACT
Twentn-six patients with vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) were reviewed to define the clinical characteristics and modes of treatment. Pruritus dominated subjectively, and most of the patients had white lesions. The posterior segments of the vulva were significantly involved (P = 0,006), and laser controlled most of the young patients, local excision being reserved for the older ones. It is concluded that VIN patients should be monitored for possible cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) association, and the perineal region should be observed closely and biopsied selectively in any chronic pruritic patient.
