Abstract
ABSTRACT
The degree of abnormality of the transformation zone was graded based on well-established parameters: surface contour, clarity of demarcation of abnormal features, abnormal vessels, punctation, and white epithelium. Six hundred patients were studied. For grading purposes, only patients who subsequently had either a conization or hysterectomy were considered. The grading system seems a practical means to forecast the probable histologic abnormality as well as an excellent modality in the teaching of colposcopy.
